THEY'VE got a frying pan in their percussion, a sousaphone in their brass section and someone who plays toys.
Bellowhead, the folk big band with a big reputation, are coming to the Sub Rooms on Thursday, April 24.
In the past 18 months, Bellowhead have released a critically acclaimed debut album, Burlesque, which is one of The Guardian's Top 1000 Albums to Listen to Before You Die, they've appeared on BBC TV's Later with Jools, performed everywhere from the Royal Opera House to the Shepherd's Bush Empire and along the way entertained festival audiences all over the country. The band now have high-profile fans the world-over, ranging from California's Red Hot Chili Peppers to the Black Country's Frank Skinner.

Voted Best Live Band for an incredible third time at the 2008 BBC Folk Awards, the year had already begun well for Bellowhead when they were honoured by being asked to follow in the footsteps of Saint Etienne, becoming Band in Residence at London's Southbank Centre.
The band mix folk, rock, jazz, soul and world music influences with a hint of English Music Hall and a dash of cabaret. Between them, the 11 musicians play more than 20 instruments and six of them sing.
