MORE than 5,000 spectators flocked to Marling School playing field on Monday night to marvel at another magnificent Ebley Fireworks display.
An array of exciting fun fair rides and a giant bonfire kept the crowds enthralled before one of biggest and best firework displays anywhere in the south west brought proceedings to a spectacular finish.
The Rotary Clubs of Stroud, Stonehouse and Nailsworth and the Stroud and Stonehouse Round Table, which organised the event, hope to have raised more than £13,000 on the night for worthy causes.
Leon Sandells, chairman of the Ebley Fireworks committee, thanked the event's 25 main sponsors and the host of volunteers who gave up their free time to ensure everything ran smoothly, including members of Stroud Army Cadets, the Samaritans, Badbrook Explorer Scouts and the Door Youth Project.
"It was another great night and a real tribute to what Stroud can do," said Mr Sandells.
"The atmosphere was fantastic, there were no problems and everyone coming and going from the site behaved impeccably.
"There is a huge amount of work that goes into this event and every year it just gets better and better, so long may it continue."
