LOOKING for inspiration for what to wear for this year's Goodwill Evening in Stroud? This trio had no problem finding suitable gear from the 1960s in some of the town's shops.

The theme Make Love Not War will bring flower power to the streets on Friday, December 7.

Everyone who dresses up for the night should be sure to visit Kodak Express in Kendrick Street where a photographer will be snapping away.

All the pictures taken will then be entered into a fancy dress competition and the best outfit will win a prize. As usual the evening will start at the Subscription Rooms at 6pm with a procession through the streets. There will be a prize-winning treasure hunt for youngsters in the town's shop windows and there will also be a competition for the best window display.

Father Christmas will be paying a visit too so kids need to get their requests in before the big day. There will be a Crystal Cavern at Mann's Jewellers again, a light sculpture from local artist Jack Wimperis, a fun fair playing 1960s music in Fawkes Place and carol singers, a brass band and myriad market stalls in the Shambles and Cornhill.

This year's Goodwill Evening promises to be a lot of fun so get cracking on your outfit now. Anyone who wants to get involved in this year's event should contact Gerb Gerbrands at info@madeinstroud.org
