HIGH profile Gloucestershire County Council cabinet member Chas Fellows will lose his seat next year due to boundary changes.

Cllr Fellows, cabinet member for economy and environment, will see his Chalford division disappear in May under changes aimed at reducing the number of county councillors.

The former Stroud District Council leader - who has also represented the Chalford ward on SDC since 1996 - was beaten to the Conservative candidacy for the new seat covering Minchinhampton and Chalford by county councillor
Stan Waddington.

Cllr Waddington currently represents the Minchinhampton and Nailsworth ward.

District councillor Dorcas Binns, (Con, Minchinhampton) was elected unopposed to run for the new Nailsworth, Amberley, Woodchester and King's Stanley county division.

The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England has cut the number of county councillors in Gloucestershire from 63 to 53 ahead of next year's election in May.
