SHOPS, arts studios and businesses stayed open on Friday for the annual Painswick Goodwill Evening.

The Painswick Yew Trees and St Mary's Church were lit up for the event and many families attended the Christmas market in the town hall.

Mulled wine and mince pies were on offer at the Painswick Centre where a Christmas fair was set up with stalls and charities selling gifts, crafts and food.

Art Couture served cocktails in the Cotswold Room where some of the winning costumes from the Art Couture Festival this summer were on display.
