A UNIQUE story called The Pied Piper of Stonehouse delighted parents at the Shrubberies School.

All primary and secondary pupils took part in the production, with some having to cover the parts of students who were ill at the last minute.

It was written by staff with help from students in Oak Class and incorporated songs including Rat in Stonehouse - adapted from UB40's Rat In Mi Kitchen.
The Pied Piper was played by Ben Lloyd while King Rat and Prince Rat were played by Jordan Masson and Joel Bushell.

Staff who took part included Jamie Dowding as the dame Queen Rat, Cathy Bradshaw as the naughty Cat Alyst and Vannessa Moore and Jenny Hobbs as members of the town council.

Teacher Cathy Bradshaw said it was inspiring to see the children so enthused and confident on stage.

"They remembered dance sequences, song lyrics and lines and we are justifiably proud of all they achieved," she said.

Proceeds from the two nights went to The Shrubberies School Fund.
Younger children also had a chance to shine at the school's nativity play.
