COFFEE packaging can now be recycled in Bisley in a bid to reduce waste going to landfill and to raise funds for a playgroup.
The Greenshop in Calf Way is one of the first locations to join national recycling scheme the Coffee Packaging Brigade set up by coffee brand Kenco and recycling group TerraCycle.
A collection box for all brands of coffee packaging waste is now situated in the foyer of the building and a fee will be paid based on the weight of units collected, which will be donated to Puddleducks Playgroup in Chalford Hill.
Tricia Watson, who collects with TerraCycle on a number of other recycling schemes on behalf of Puddleducks Playgroup, arranged for the collection point at the Greenhouse.
She said: "The aim is to not only save coffee packaging waste from landfill but also raise as much as possible for the playgroup.
"The money will be used in our quest for new premises as we are currently based in a shared community hall."
Coffee refill bags, bean bags, sachets and jar lids can be dropped off from 9am to 6pm on Mondays to Saturdays and from 9am to 1pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
The waste will be recycled into plastic products such as park benches, watering cans and waste bins.
