A DEAD sheep was found with bite marks to its neck in Frocester after a suspected dog attack.

The owner of the sheep went to check on his flock and discovered the body on Saturday, February 9.

At around 3pm that day a black Collie-type dog was seen running around a field just off Frocester Hill chasing sheep.

The dog was taken hold of by a neighbour and a woman came to collect it around an hour and a half later.

Police inquiries into the incident are continuing and officers investigating the incident would particularly like to speak to the woman who collected the dog.

Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesman Simon Masters said: "She is described as having 'scraggly' grey hair and driving a blue Ford Focus car."

Anyone with information that could help the investigation should call police on 101 quoting incident 282 of February 9.
