STROUD District Council has teamed up with the county's enterprise agency Gloucestershire Enterprise to provide much needed support for businesses and entrepreneurs.
The tie up will deliver an array of support services for local entrepreneurs and existing businesses.
Many of the programmes will be at no cost to participants, and will include support and advice for businesses starting up, training courses on running businesses and workshops on management skills.
Applicants will also have access to and coordination of, many other business programmes and qualifications.
Support can all be delivered locally, with some programmes already run from Stroud town centre, while training can be taken at a trader's premises.
Executive member for regeneration for Stroud District Council, Cllr Roger Sanders, said: "Our focus is on developing a strong jobs and growth agenda so we want to do what we can to support entrepreneurs and businesses.
"With the demise of the Business Link there is a distinct lack of face-to-face support for those considering starting a business of their own or existing small businesses who simply want to discuss a business issues with a specialist."
