TOADS in need of a home have somewhere to rest thanks to a workshop run by Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.

Pupils from The Croft Primary School in Painswick joined staff and residents at Richmond Retirement Village on Friday, February 1 and built more than 20 houses for toads using pieces of timber.

The tent-like structures were given to the children to take home with instructions to part bury them in their garden to provide a safe place for toads to rest.

It is hoped the children will monitor the houses and report any sightings to Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.
