AN appeal has been made to SNJ readers for information about a Second World War veteran called John Francis Ford.

Born in 1921, Mr Ford fought with the seventh Rifles battalion during the war.
He was injured in the second battle of El Alamein in 1942.

The In and Out naval and military club in London is trying to find out more about Mr Ford, who donated all his wartime memorabilia to the club when he was briefly a member in 1984.

At the time his known address was in Randwick but the telephone number the club has on its records is now out of service.

Kath Posner, a librarian at the club, said: "We are hoping either he or members of his family will read this and get in contact with us.

"His collection is fascinating and includes his injury records from El Alamein. We would just love to know more about him."

Anyone who has any information about Mr Ford should contact Kath by email at kathposner@gmail.com
