Christian Comment with Clive Dale of Ebley Chapel
9:00pm Wednesday 20th February 2013 in News By SNJ Reporter
THIS week's Christian Comment is likely to be controversial - Clive Dale, of Ebley Chapel, Stroud, argues that science does not prove evolution and that Darwin did not necessarily believe his theory but merely 'explored' the idea. The truth, says Mr Dale, is to be found in the Bible.
Readers are welcome to add their own thoughts at the end of the piece. The views expressed are those of Mr Dale and are not endorsed by the SNJ.
WE are living in a time of misinformation.
The latest food scare just highlights a problem that is permeating throughout our society.
All of us have been relying on the labelling of our foods, and cannot believe that we have been eating horse when things have been labelled beef.
They haven't been checking but just trusting those that were providing the meat.
Politicians and marketing consultants only tell us what they want us to hear, which is often used to disguise the truth or steer us away from the truth.
This leaving out information can seriously change what we believe.
For instance, when DNA was first announce it was stated that here was only a small difference between certain animals and man, so everybody has jumped on that especially politicians and those that wanted to attack Christianity.
But when the scientists delve deeper in DNA, at the lower levels they declared that the gulf between the DNA and the animals was too far apart for man to have come from any of the animals.
Yet we still hear today that DNA proves evolution, which is false.
Although Darwin wrote the Origin of Species, evolution was a theory which he explored but did not agree with but in the last chapter of his book he posed questions for us to think about and look into.
Even now, over a hundred years later, a lot of the points he made in the book to support evolution are not factual but just inferences.
The Bible is truth and says: 'Teach me Your way, O Lord, that I may walk and live in Your truth; direct and unite my heart to fear and honour Your name'.
Psalm 86:11 'And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free'. John 8: 32 Jesus told him: "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through me'. John 14:6.

To claim "we are living in a time of misinformation" is laughable coming from somebody that believes the rubbish written by men in some dusty 2000 year old book. We are actually living in a time of enlightenment when more and more people are realising that religion is simply a means of control, and that science is our real saviour.
The Bible is NOT truth.
It is a litany of spurious conjecture, assumptions, old wives tales and downright lies and people such as Mr Dale really need to wake up and stop spreading this complete nonsense.

I really think we should be told.
It's almost like the SNJ is trolling its readership these days. Are they so desperate for page views that they have resorted to this nonsense?

I love the way he attacks politicians and marketing consultants (not to mention Darwin and "the scientists"!), but omits any reference to other mediums, such as newspapers and the media.
This chap is clearly bonkers. Keep up the good work SNJ!

You don't have to believe in creationism to be a Christian.

I assume that Rev Dale means discovered rater than announced - how would you announce DNA? I imagined Town Criers up and down the land on a snowy Saturday morning shouting "Oyez, Oyez, Oyez! In this good Parish of Stroud I announce DNA!"
He states that there is little similarity between human DNA and animal DNA. A tiny bit of research would have shown that Man shares a lot of DNA with animals.
Chimps - 98%
Cat - 90%
Mouse - 75%
Fruit Fly - 60%
Banana - 50%
So we are all related by genetic material to bananas.
I announce that Rev Dale and similar pedlars of creationist drivel may well be more than 50% related to a banana.

You don't get away with it that easily. By printing this moronic drivel you are implicitly endorsing it to a certain degree. Editorial standards certainly aren't what they used to be.
