SHOPPERS flocked to the re-opening of Age UK charity shop in Stroud high street on Friday morning.

Refurbishment work has been going on since the store closed at the end of January, giving manager Tracey Hayden and her team of volunteers only three weeks to replenish their stock and put everything back in place for the grand opening.

"We have had a lot of positive feedback from customers already who are really excited about the stores new look and stock that will be available," said Tracey.

"To keep the shop at its best however we really do need people to keep bringing in donations to us."

Opening the store Roger Sanders, executive member for regeneration for Stroud District Council, said: "Charity shops are an important part of Stroud because they support a worthy cause whilst enabling less fortunate people affordability and giving others a chance to recycle clothes rather than sending them to the tip."
