BT phonebook error still lists David Drew as Stroud MP

DAVID Drew is still the MP for Stroud, according to the latest edition of the BT phonebook.

The Labour politician, who represented Stroud at Westminster for 13 years before losing his seat to Neil Carmichael in 2010, has been mistakenly listed by the telecommunications company as the constituency's Member of Parliament.

BT has said they depend on the public to update them of any changes but Mr Drew said he informed the company back in 2010 that he was no longer sitting in the House of Commons.

Stroud's incumbent Conservative MP Neil Carmichael won the seat with a slim majority of 1,299 votes at the general election three years ago.

His office can be contacted by calling 01453 751572 or emailing neil.carmichael.mp@parliament.uk

No I think the Phone book has it right judging by the numbers of citizens of the 5 valleys who contact David for advice, information and help. Lots of people have little info or desire to contact the sitting incumbent or his office. If they do manage to get through then a lot of time elapses before a return contact is made. David will be Strouds representative in Parliament again in a few years so no need to change the entry in Phone book. Neil Carmichaels entry can be left as " lost at the South Pole".
