Man hospitalised after suspected arson attack in Stroud

A MAN remains in hospital after a suspected arson attack at a flat in Stroud.


Emergency services were called to the blaze at a top floor flat in Allen Drive, Paganhill around 4.30pm on Saturday, March 8, after reports of a fire alarm sounding and smoke from the flat.


The 56-year-old male occupier of the flat suffered burns to his arms and chest and was taken by ambulance to Frenchay Hospital, in Bristol, where he remains.


Fire crews from Stroud, Nailsworth and Painswick attended the scene and blocked the road off while police investigated the circumstances of the blaze.
