v. A Community Market is being held in King's Stanley Village Hall this Friday, April 12 from 3pm to 7pm. An extensive range of stalls are promised and include Godsell's Cheese, Days juices and ciders, locally made sausages, honey, bread, home-made pickles, jams and cakes, fruit and veg and a fresh fish stall. Amongst the craft stalls will be knitwear, lavender products, jewellery; general stalls will include plants, sweets, antiques, bric-a-brac and specialist books. Background music will be provided by King's Stanley Band and refreshments will be on sale. Come and support this exciting community event and tell your friends.

v. Fancy a walk this Saturday, April 13? Join a warden-led walk starting at Cowcombe Hill layby and walk to Minchinhampton. This is a 10 mile walk and takes seven hours - it is advisable to bring a packed lunch. There will also be a walk around Minchinhampton and Amberley Common on Wednesday, April 17 and on Friday, April 19 from Newark Park to Ozleworth and Ashocroft House.

v. Do you have a question for the police? A weekly drop in is held every Tuesday in Stonehouse Town Hall between 11am to noon.

v. If you have recently had a baby did you know that the library in Elm Road holds Baby Bounce and Rhyme sessions on Wednesdays from 10.30am to 11am and story time on Mondays at 10.30am. Come and join in and meet other new parents.

v. Zumba classes are now being held in Stonehouse Community Centre every Thursday evening from 7.15pm to 8pm.

v. Do you have a spare Bible? To celebrate Pentecost 2013, local churches are part of a vision to give away 1,000 Bibles. So if you have a Bible to spare please take it in to The Light in the High Street Stonehouse who is joining in this exciting scheme.

v. Keep fit for the over 50s. Come along and join in this class which is held every Thursday in Stonehouse Community Centre from 10-11am.

v. Stonehouse and The Stanleys now have their very own village agents. Peter Wand can be contacted on 07534 064178. Village and community agents can provide help with accessing information about a range of services and offer a signposting service to people over 50.

v. Keeping fit in Stonehouse couldn't be easier. Did you know that Stonehouse has its own Sports and Dance Centre open to the public Monday to Friday 6pm to 10pm and on Sunday from 10am to 2pm. v. Walking is considered by many to be the best way to keep fit. Stonehouse Health Walks take place every Tuesday morning. Meet at the Community Centre to start walking at 10.15am. Walks last up to one hour and this is an excellent way to keep fit and make new friends. The Pop In is open for coffee at the end of the walk.

v. Stonehouse WI will meet next Wednesday, April 17 in the Community Centre from 7.30pm. If you have not discovered the WI why not come along and help celebrate their 45th birthday. Glenda Ford will be giving a cookery demonstration, the competitions is 'a handmade cushion' - the winner will be award the Bud Vase and the Bring and Buy table will have cuttings and plants for sale. v

. Wycliffe's annual history lecture on Monday, April 22 at 7.30pm in Wycliffe Chapel is being given by Professor George Barnard. He will cover two topics: The Fall of Wolsey and The Charges against Anne Boleyn. Prof Bernard was the editor of the English Historical Review and his most recent novel Anne Boleyn: Fatal Attractions makes new claims about this infamous queen.

v. The Stonehouse annual town meeting will be held in the town hall on Wednesday, April 24 at 7.30pm. Come along and hear about the work of your town council for the past year and find out which people and businesses are receiving recognition for their particular contribution to the life of your town.
