DANIEL Chadwick is cooking up a storm after landing a prestigious D&AD design award for his space age looking pizza oven.
Previous winners of the acclaimed gong have included the Apple iPad.
The son of world-renowned sculptor Lynn Chadwick, Daniel and his Stroud-based business partner Guy Adams have invented a sublime looking piece of art which makes home-cooked pizzas in under four minutes on a hob without the need for a conventional oven.
"To cook a pizza or a flat bread, you need a very high temperature, around 500¡C, and a porous surface, like a wood fired oven and most ovens only reach 250¡C, so a new invention was required," said Daniel, who first discussed his idea with Marco Pierre White and Blur bassist and cheesemaker Alex James.
The first 300 Chadwick Ovens have been individually signed and numbered.
Daniel is also opening a pizza restaurant at the former Stroud Music Centre in a few months.
