FOREST Green stalwart Heather Cook has been awarded the ultimate accolade of Life Membership.

Miss Forest Green has followed her beloved club for 42 years. She first became a kit manager under the late Forest Green boss Steve Millard and was also programme editor and press officer for 12 years.

Heather also had a two-year spell as office manager at the old Lawn under Colin Addison and Gary Owers. She is currentley the official club statistician, does the teamsheets on matchday and runs her own FGR website with all the FGR statistics.

She said: "Very honoured and grateful. My eldest son wanted to go and watch a match back in then 1970s and that got me hooked.

"My Forest Green game highlight was winning the FA Vase final at Wembley. "But actually, my biggest enjoyment is that when I joined we were in the Hellenic League about four levels below and since then we've only ever gone up and never gone down. Long may it continue."
