MORE than 100 marchers paraded through Stroud town centre to mark International Workers Day on Saturday, April 27.
Those in attendance who had turned out in solidarity for the event, which was organised by Stroud Labour Party, were entertained by the Songs for Change choir and the lively Bath Samba Band.
A minute's silence was also held for all workers killed or injured whilst at work - a particularly poignant moment given the tragedy in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka last week, where at least 380 textile workers died when their building collapsed.
The march was led by former Stroud MP David Drew and the South West chairman of the Trade Union Congress Richard Capps.
A lunch was laid on by the Labour Party at the Old Town Hall in the Shambles following the march.
