DAVID and Victoria Beckham - or more accurately two primary school children pretending to be the celebrity couple - attended a mock press conference in Stonehouse during which they revealed some startling news.

Olivia Price and Douglas Vaughan, both 11, took on the roles of Posh and Becks during a press briefing at Park Junior School designed to teach Year 6 pupils about journalism.

And on hand to help the young hacks craft their copy was SNJ reporter Kate Wilson.

The big exclusive which emerged sent shockwaves through the whole school - the couple and their four children were moving to Stonehouse.

'David' explained that he had accepted an offer of a life-time's supply of Winstone’s ice-cream in return for taking on the role of right-winger at Forest Green Rovers.

And while David was looking forward to gracing the pitch at New Lawn, Victoria was planning to open a clothes shop in Stonehouse high street called Posh Frocks.

After the couple revealed their news, pupils had the chance to ask questions on behalf of news organisations including BBC News, the LA Times and the SNJ.

Each then wrote up a 300-word article complete with their own headlines.

Some of the best included ‘Ice-cream, we scream, you scream for Beckham’ and ‘Watch out ladies Beckham’s about’.

Staff picked this article by Ashley Ridout, 10, to be published in the SNJ.
