THE Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum, is proud to be supporting Gloucester’s first Armed Forces Day, this Saturday 29th June.

The Museum will be offering 2-4-1 museum entry and serving tea, coffee and cakes throughout the day. The 28th Regiment of Foot living history group will be joining us for the day, performing drill demonstrations and showing us how soldiers from the Napoleonic age used to dress. The 28th Regiment of Foot date back to 1694 and are the founding regiment of ‘The Glorious Glosters’. The Museum is open daily from 10am – 5pm. A Drum Head service will be held at College Green, outside Gloucester Cathedral at 12:00 followed by a parade.

The parade will pass from College St, into Westgate St, to The Cross, right into Southgate St and will finish in front of the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum in the Docks.

Come and meet our Forces, get hands on with their military equipment and displays. Family fun activities include a flight simulator and various displays throughout the afternoon.
