v. APT Central - debt management and advice is available at APT Central every Monday from 10am to noon or you can book a slot between 1pm and 3pm. Cooking up a Change – now taking bookings for the next course. Call in and reserve your place. Drop in sessions for tenants to discuss housing issues are held on Thursday mornings from 10am. Did you know that you can come in and use the facilities to research jobs and write or update your CV? Citizen Advice Bureau – an advice worker is available every Thursday from 1pm-3pm and finally why not pop in for a coffee and give your ideas for community activities in the year ahead?

v. If you have recently had a baby did you know that the library in Elm Road holds Baby Bounce and Rhyme sessions on Wednesdays from 10.30am to 11am and story time on Mondays at 10.30am. Come and join in and meet other new parents.

v. Zumba classes are now being held in Stonehouse Community Centre every Thursday evening from 7.15pm to 8pm.

v. St Cyr’s Church is open every Saturday from now until the end of July between noon and 3pm. Tea and coffee will be available.

v. Hats for seamen - thank you to all who continue to knit hats and balaclavas for seamen. Please carry on knitting, hats can be left in the town hall. v. Singing for the Brain is organised by the Alzheimer’s Society and sessions are held at Stonehouse community centre on Tuesday afternoons. v. Walking is considered by many to be the best way to keep fit. Stonehouse Health Walks take place every Tuesday morning. Meet at the Community Centre to start walking at 10.15am. Walks last up to one hour.

v. Stroud Valleys Credit Union, (Stonehouse Community Bank) offers people an alternative to doorstep lenders. An advisor is now available at the Children’s Centre in Stonehouse. The Credit Union (Save’n’borrow) now has new premises in the Brunel Mall in Stroud. It is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays 10am-noon.

v. The ‘Pop In’ in at the Community Centre is open Monday Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 9.30am and 11.30am. Volunteers also needed - contact Pam Hurlston on 01453 825150.

v. The Citizens Advice Bureau is at the town hall every Thursday from 10am to 1pm. No need for an appointment – just drop-in. An advice worker is also available in the APT community shop on the Park Estate on Thursday afternoons from 1pm.

v. Short Mat Bowling Club at the Douglas Morley Hall is open to all interested bowls players. They meet every Tuesday and Friday afternoons between 2pm and 4.30pm. There are vacancies on Friday afternoons and new members, preferably with some bowling experience but keen beginners are also welcome, are invited to come along and give it a go.
