MINCHINHAMPTON will be transformed into a mass of merriment during the town’s country fayre.
A stilt-walking clown, pony rides and archery are just some of the attractions at Minchinhampton Country Fayre from noon to 5pm on Saturday. The High Street will be packed with a wide selection of craft and produce stalls and there will be a display of vintage and classic cars.
There will also be fairground rides, traditional children’s games and a gliding simulator.
A food court on the school field will have a wide variety of food and drink stalls, including a hog roast and there will be an art exhibition in the Market House featuring work by Gloucestershire artists.
There is also a flower festival in Holy Trinity Church which runs until Monday on the theme of the common.
Minchinhampton Country Fayre takes place every two years and dates back to medieval times.
This year there is so much to see that organisers have expanded onto the common, where visitors will be able to see the National Trust's 100 years of Caring exhibition to mark the centenary of Minchinhampton Common.
The essential guide to the fayre is on sale at 50p in various shops in Minchinhampton with all proceeds to local charities and causes.
