FLARES, flower power and free love helped transport Stonehouse back to the swinging sixties at the weekend.
At least two Austin Powers lookalikes were joined by a throng of revellers in outfits which drew inspiration from Mary Quant to peaceniks at the annual Stonehouse Celebration Day on Saturday.
Circus performer Alex Haynes showcased a few tricks while traders played music from the era including the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, helping to evoke the era in which hairy hippies, sharp suited mods and leather clad rockers inspired a generation of free-thinking and fashion.
Visitors also enjoyed vintage cars, a steam engine, a variety of stalls.
There was also a prize for the best fancy dress with the winner's photograph being displayed in the window of Norville Opticians this week.
