BEAUTY queen Laura Entwistle has been crowned Miss Gloucestershire.
Laura, 25, who grew up in Chalford Hill and attended Stroud High School, will now compete in the Miss Great Britain final in Leicester.
"I started taking part in pageants when I went to Cardiff University," said Laura, who works as an IT sales specialist for IBN in London.
"I always really enjoyed doing them and to be honest they can become quite addictive.
"I think in the last six years I have taken part in 10 pageants including one in America and also one in China where I represented Ireland in the Miss Globe contest but Miss Great Britain will be the biggest competition I have ever been in."
In the coming months, Laura will be spending most of her time training for the competition which takes place at the Athena in Leicester on Thursday, November 14 and Friday, November 15.
"It’s all about eating healthily and exercising. I do gymnastics and cheerleading in my spare time so the will help me keep fit and be ready for the swimwear part of the competition.
"I will also have to prepare for the interview stage and this year all the finalists have been asked to raise as much money as possible for the Rainbow Hospice."
Laura is also hoping to get more involved locally and would love to make an appearance as Miss Gloucestershire at events in the district.
