COMMUTERS travelling between junction 12 of the M5 and Stonehouse can expect delays as work starts to resurface the B4008.
Highway crews will begin excavating 472 metres of old road along the B4008, Gloucester Road through Standish at Little Haresfield, then replacing it with 368 tonnes of brand new highway.
The section of the road on the approach to junction 12 of the M5 from Standish through Little Haresfield will be closed from Thursday, September 26 until Tuesday, October 1.
Disruption will be kept to a minimum and the road will only be closed between 8.45am and 3.15pm – keeping the route to the motorway free at peak travel times.
A diversion is in place along the A38 through Hardwicke and Whitminster and then along the A419.
Richard Gray, local highways manager, said: “Where it is safe to do so highway crews on site will help local residents and business access their properties where they can.”
