GREEN-FINGERED enthusiasts helped raise more than £200 for charity at the Horticultural Show in Stonehouse.
Delicious cakes, a raffle and a car boot sale were just some of the ways the shows committee helped raise money for the Cobalt Unit – a medical charity which helps those affected by cancer and other life-limiting conditions.
The show at the Stonehouse Community Centre in Laburnum Road attracted more than 300 exhibits in nearly 80 classes.
Competitors showcased their best flowers, vegetables and home-made wine whilst bakers battled it out to produce the finest Victoria Sandwich.
Among the winners were Margaret Fedrick for a selection of Edible Flowers and Anne Minchin won in the recycled or upcycled item of clothing category for her much altered summer dress.
The show committee would like to thank Dairy Crest and other local businesses for the sponsorship and are hoping for the same success next year.
