The Ram Inn to stay open despite concerns about A46 road closure
THE Ram Inn will stay open despite threats that it would have to close because of resurfacing work on the A46.
Earlier this month landlord Philip McAsey said the business in South Woodchester was unable to survive the effect of the road closure put in place on Sundays for six weeks for resurfacing work.
He said Sundays make up a third of the weekly turnover and he couldn't survive without them.
Now, Mr McAsey wants to reassure his customers that he is staying open for business.
“We didn't know where we stood, but now we do” he said.
“The bank has granted us leeway to get though these next six weeks.
“Our local councillor Rhiannon Wigzell has been fantastic with her advice and support and MP Neil Carmichael has also been there in our hour of need.
“The staff have been amazing offering what help they could and I’ve lost count of the offers and messages of support from customers willing me to fight on.”
