PREGNANT Zara Phillips unveiled three new birthing rooms at Stroud Maternity Unit on Friday, as part of its 60th birthday celebrations.
A big event to commemorate the anniversary was originally due to take place in March but as building work was ongoing at the unit, following a Government grant of 150,000 to update and improve facilities, a decision was taken to postpone the celebrations.
Other guests included SNJ Nailsworth columnist Pam Browne, who was also celebrating her 60th birthday.
Pam was one of the first babies born at Stroud Maternity Unit at 5.30am on September 27, 1953.
