Police investigate if house fire in Cheltenham was started deliberately

POLICE are investigating whether a house fire in Cheltenham was started deliberately.
Shortly before 3.45 this morning (Tuesday October 1) Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service alerted Gloucestershire Police to the fire at a home on Edendale Road.
The fire service quickly established that there was no one in the property and no one was injured in the blaze.
Investigating officers believe a burglary may have taken place in them home and are investigating whether the fire was started intentionally.
They are urging anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area in the early hours of this morning to call Gloucestershire Police on 101 quoting incident number 35 of October 1.
