WILD Goose Service Station, Dursley, near Stroud, has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Pace Site’ category, sponsored by CMS, in the SuperStation Awards 2013. The ’SuperStation’ retail industry awards, which are in their second year running, have been designed to recognise and reward the highest standards in forecourt retailing.
Assessed by a panel of industry specialists, the Awards encourage the highest industry standards, including elements such as forecourt appearance, diversity of product offering, customer service, innovation in business strategy and generally setting a benchmark standard for the industry. The winners will be announced at the SuperStation Gala Dinner, sponsored by ID Maintenance, at The Belfry Hotel, Sutton Coldfield on 24 October 2013.
Wild Goose service station was the first site taken on by the Stayte family which, during their twelve years of ownership, has grown three fold in volume thanks to investment in new pumps, point of sale displays and forecourt facilities such as a jet wash and vacuum. Mike Stayte, Wild Goose site manager, commented, “I am delighted to be shortlisted for this award. We were aware of the Awards last year, but didn’t get to this stage so, to be in the running for an award, is a reflection of the efforts we’ve put in over the last year or so to ensure our site supplies the items that our customers want, with a visibly attractive layout and friendly, knowledgeable staff to top it off. We’re already looking forward to the ceremony in October and will be proud of our achievement, whatever the outcome.”
Ramsay MacDonald, Certas Energy Retail Director, commented “To be nominated for an award is a mark of quality and professionalism. There is a tough selection process, so the three individuals selected in this category really stood out from the competition. This is just the second year the Awards have been running and already we are seeing a marked improvement across our sites based on the feedback and support we’ve provided throughout the past year. This is a standards competition and we will continue to drive for continued improvement year upon year.”
The other shortlisted sites in the Best Pace site award category are: • Foxlydiate Service Station, Reditch • Barbrook, Lynton, North Devon The ‘Best Pace Site’ Award is sponsored by CMS.
