In Gloucestershire it’s no secret that we have an ageing population as people are living longer. That is why Gloucestershire County Council is keen to help people make the most of their golden years by staying fit, healthy and active and planning properly for later life.
Cllr Andrew Gravells, cabinet member for older people, said: “I invite older people living locally to come along to the fire station in Uckington from 10am this Saturday. “There’s a whole host of excellent services available for people in Gloucestershire to help them stay fit, healthy and safe and to give them the best opportunities when they’re older.
“We all know how important it is to plan for later life, but we want to make it easier for people to do that. It’s better to plan ahead rather than struggling on without seeing what help is available.”
If you can’t make it along to an event you can find all the information online at: www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/independentliving.
