AROUND 200 students at Archway School took part in imaginative writing classes run by the author Katy Moran recently.
Pupils from Years 8, 9 and 12 were given inspirational advice and top tips about how to develop their characters and write compelling stories.
At break and lunchtime, Katy also held open sessions giving the entire school the opportunity to chat and ask questions about her work.
“My library helpers always love the treat of having lunch with a visiting author,” said school librarian Mrs Alice Day, who won the chance to have Katy visit the school after entering a competition run by Walker Books.
“Winning the opportunity to have such a good author in school over a couple of weeks is a dream way to start the new school term,” she added.
