STAFF from Park Infant School are celebrating this week after receiving a national award for special needs education.

During a national conference held by the country's leading education charity Achievement for All 3As the school in Elm Road, Stonehouse was recognised for offering a high quality education and presented with the Quality Lead award.

The award celebrates the excellent work being done by the school in partnership with Achievement for All 3As to ensure that vulnerable children and their families can achieve the best possible outcomes from their school.

Rachel Edwards, Park Infant School headteacher, was presented with the Quality Lead award by Sonia Blandford, CEO of Achievement for All 3As, at the conference on Tuesday, October 8.

Mrs Edwards said: “I was delighted and honoured to receive the Achievement for All 3As Quality Lead award on behalf of the children, parents, carers, staff and governors.

“This award is a great recognition of the whole team effort to improve outcomes for children both in our own school and through our coaching work with other local schools.

“Achievement for All has been an overwhelming success at the school and ties in with our vision to provide the very best start for every child so they can be the best they can be.”

Delegates from more than 200 schools across the country attended the conference.

Achievement for All 3As, Sonia Blandford, said: “The Achievement for All programme has already had a profound impact on schools across the country improving results in reading, writing and maths for many of our most disadvantaged and vulnerable children, and for those with special education needs.

“By joining the programme and working in partnership with the Achievement for All 3As team, schools commit to a vision that all children can achieve.”
