Safety improvements made to roads surrounding Archway School

PUPILS from Archway School can step out with confidence when safety improvements are made to the surrounding roads this half term.
Work will be taking place near the mini roundabout at the junction of Paganhill Lane and Farmhill Lane.
The pedestrian islands at the roundabout will be improved and new signs will be installed to make the roads safer.
Currently Archway School is not directly visible from these main roads so the new signs will make it clear the school is there.
Three way temporary traffic lights will be in operation during off-peak hours at the roundabout from Monday, October 28 until Friday, November 8.
Improvements to the footpaths will be undertaken in the first week so that they will be open again when pupils return to school.
Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways and flood said: “Access will be maintained but some delays will be inevitable.
“Should you require assistance with accessing or leaving your property please speak to the operatives on site who will assist in any way they can.
“Once the work is complete the area will be safer for everyone.”
