Stratford Park Leisure Centre wins bronze
STRATFORD Park Leisure Centre has walked away with a bronze award at this year's Health Club Awards.
The awards which attracted over 500 entries from leisure centres across the UK are judged by the clubs’ own members.
Everyone Active, which runs the leisure centre for Stroud District Council, won 15 regional awards and a national award for Best Large Gym Chain.
June Cordwell, chairman of SDC’s community services committee, said: “Since Everyone Active took over management of Stratford Park Leisure Centre gym attendance has risen from around 720 attendees a month to over 5,300 and the number of people attending the group exercise programmes each month has shot up from 390 to over 3,100.
“The company and its staff have done a great job and fully deserve the recognition they have achieved.”
Dan Coleman, general manager of Stratford Park Leisure Centre, said: “We are delighted to have received this award as it is recognition from our members that we are offering the type of service that they want.
“We will continue to listen to them and hope that next year we will be bringing home the gold award.”
Simon Brown, managing director of the awards, said: “We believe the best health clubs provide a balance in three key areas, range of facilities, customer service and value for money.
“The Members Choice Health Club Awards are designed to find out which clubs are excelling in these areas and recognising them for their efforts.
“We think there’s no better endorsement for a club than honest feedback from customers that are using the facilities.”
