FRIENDS of a Bisley fitness instructor diagnosed with breast cancer have raised a substantial amount of dough for charity after taking part in the first ever Great Pink Bake Off.
The Brimscombe women organised their very own event as part of the nationwide fundraising initiative, generating £355 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
They were motivated to raise funds for the cause after their fitness teacher Vicky Martin, who runs a Fatbusting Fitness Bootcamp in the village, was diagnosed with breast cancer for the third time.
The ladies hosted their tea, coffee and cake fundraising evening after their regular bootcamp session at Brimscombe and Thrupp Social Centre in London Road on Wednesday, October 16.
Sarah Mills, one of the organisers who lives in Chalford, said the women were hoping to encourage more people to raise money for breast cancer charities.
“It’s a piece of cake,” she added.
