A REMEMBRANCE Sunday service organised by the sea cadets will take place at 10.55am in Park Gardens on November 10. Stroud District Council’s chief executive David Hagg will be representing the authority.
There will also be a two minute silence on the Subscription Room forecourt on Armistice Day (November 11) at 11am. SDC leader Geoff Wheeler will be attending on behalf of the council.
On Remembrance Sunday a parade will start at 11.35am from Regent Street and make its way to the memorial green for a service at noon.
There will also be a service on the green starting at 10.45am on Armisitice Day, during which a two-minute silence will be held.
There will be a Remembrance Service at St Mary’s Church at 10.50am on Sunday, November 10 and an Armistice Day Service at 11am on Monday, November 11 at the war memorial.
There will be a Remembrance Service at Holy Trinity Church at 9.30am on Sunday, November 10, followed by a procession to the war memorial for a service at 10.45am. There will also be a two minutes silence at the war memorial at 11am on Monday, November 11.
A procession leaves the bus station at 10.30am on Sunday, November 10 and will make its way to St George's Church for the two minute silence at 11am . After a service the parade will march back through the town.
Representatives of the scouts, guides, brownies and cubs will march from Christ Church to the war memorial with other community organisations at 10.45am on Sunday, November 10. Wreaths will be laid before a service is held back at Christ Church.
A service is being held at 10.45am on Monday, November 11 at St James’ Church. It is being led by the parish council and will be attended by a number of schools and local groups.
St Nicholas’ Church in Church Lane is hosting a memorial service on Remembrance Sunday (November 10). Arrive at 10.30am for a 10.45am start.
