THE Door Youth Project has been given the Royal seal of approval after a visit from the Earl of Wessex today, Tuesday.

Prince Edward was at The Door Youth Project to meet youngsters benefiting from its counselling, education, training and family support programmes at the charity's drop-in centre and offices at the top of the High Street, in Stroud.

Accompanied by the Christian charity's founder and chief executive Brendan Conboy, the prince was shown the Door's wood workshop, IT suite and coffee bar before chatting to a group of youngsters and youth workers.

He also unveiled a plaque to commemorate the visit before two young people were presented with awards for their achievements.
