CELEBRITY chef Gordon Ramsay and comedian Greg Davies will be presented with a little piece of Painswick when they appear on the One Show tonight, Wednesday.
Stonemasons Meister Masonry in the Painswick Beacon created a stone-carved grotesque gargoyle of Gordon and Greg which will be given to them live on the show which airs at 7pm on BBC1.
The company was recommended for the project by the Stone Federation of Great Britain following its award-winning reinstatement of the Prestbury War Memorial which was damaged by vandals in 2011.
Carver mason David Bean only had four days to create the two stone heads.
“The main thing was to get the balance between a good likeness of Gordon and Greg and simultaneously make it a fun caricature focusing on their distinctive features,” said Mr Bean.
Melissa Heather, the managing director of Meister Masonry, said: “We are so thrilled to have been asked to take on this project for national television.
“It reflects fantastically on the skills of our team and especially David Bean who is one of our most skilled carvers.
“We are massively looking forward to seeing the show and watching the reaction of Gordon and Greg to their ‘grotesque’ carvings.”
The Meister Masonry portfolio includes restoration work to Gloucester Cathedral and Compton Verney House in Warwickshire.
