RUGBY posts erected to promote the 2015 World Cup have been pulled out of the ground and damaged.

The incident happened in Field Court Drive, Quedgeley, on Tuesday, December 3 only a day after they were placed there.

A member of the public reported a group of children attempting to damage the posts which were lying on the grass.

The posts now need to be repaired before they are fitted again.

Due to their age and size police are uncertain if this group was responsible for uprooting the posts and are appealing for anyone who has any information to get in contact.

Call police on 101 quoting incident 342 of December 3.
