ISLAY Falconer had her eye on the ball when she scooped a top prize from Forest Green Rovers.

More than 100 children took part in a spot the ball competition organised by FGR sponsors the Coventry Building Society.

Eight-year-old Islay was closest to the ball and had a surprise visit from FGR players James Norwood, Aarran Racine and Sam Russell at an assembly at St Dominic’s Primary School, in Inchbrook, on Monday, December 9.

They presented her with a signed football and a family ticket to a future game.

The Coventry Building Society sponsored the match ball against Gateshead in October.

Staff decided to give away the ball by running a competition with local schools which are part of the club's Ambassador Scheme.

Jackie Harris, manager of the Nailsworth branch, said: "Forest Green Rovers is a very special football club working at the heart of its local community.

"The message about sustainability whether looking after your health or through its environmental work is hugely positive and Coventry Building Society is very proud to support the Ambassador Scheme in taking this out to local schools."
