END of term Christmas baking lessons have proved the icing on the cake for children at The Rosary School.

Year 6 pupils at the Catholic primary in Stroud have been busy over the past few weeks, making and decorating their own Christmas cakes after local baker Tim Dangerfield kindly donated ingredients.

The children have been taught and supported by two volunteers, school supervisor Gina Wilson, and The Rosary’s very own Mary Berry, former school cook Chris Castleon.

“The children have really enjoyed developing their baking and design skills with this project,” said Gina.

“We were so lucky to find a sponsor in local baker Tim Dangerfield from Dangerfield’s Bakery in King’s Stanley. The school would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to him for generously providing all the ingredients.”

The finished cakes were put on display for parents to admire, while book tokens were awarded to the bakers of the three best cakes.
