SCORES of Santas got on their bikes to raise money for charity on Saturday.

The group of friends, who meet regularly for evening rides, donned festive gear and decorated their bikes for a mass ride from Stroud to Nailsworth to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Tim Greatorex, 41, said: “My father-in-law David Hayes passed away just a few weeks ago after a long battle with prostate cancer.

“We wanted to raise awareness and money for this great charity which did so much for him.

“We have been doing this ride for eight years and it started with just four Santas.

“We have taken on elves, reindeer and a snowman along the way.”

Collection boxes were tied to handlebars and collections were held in Stroud town centre throughout the day.

The cyclists were greeted at Denis Brown timber yard in Woodchester with mulled wine and mince pies,
