Weather update - no severe weather warning but travel plans disrupted
THERE are no severe weather warnings in place for Stroud today, Tuesday.
Christmas travel plans however are still being disrupted and some road users in the district may suffer some delays.
Newmarket Road in Nailsworth is currently blocked around the Lower Newmarket Road junction because of a fallen tree and Old Neighbourhood in Chalford is currently closed around the Abnash junction because of fallen power cables and a fallen tree.
The A433 Bath Road in Doughton is also closed in both directions between Tetbury and Westonbirt because of flooding.
Rail travel also remains disrupted as many routes remain blocked by floodwater or fallen trees.
First Great Western has issued a statement requesting customers not to travel today unless absolutely necessary and to expect extended journey times.
High Speed Services are starting to operate to a reduced timetable and a limited service is operating to Bristol, Taunton and South Wales.
Local services in the London and Thames Valley area are operating as close to the timetable as possible, however there may be some delays and cancellations.
