SUPERMARKET worker David Pettit has clocked up 25 years of dedicated service.

David, 54, has worked on every section of the Morrisons store in Nailsworth and has seen the supermarket change its name three times.

"It has been a good 25 years," said David

"I have worked every section of the store twice over and now I am back on the check out

"I most enjoy working on the check out as you meet the public and talk to them."

David started in December 1988 when it was a Gateway store.

After a few years it was turned into a Somerfield supermarket before it was taken over by Morrisons in 2009.

"It was a busy time to start with everyone doing their Christmas shopping," said David, who lives in Windsoredge Lane, Nailsworth.

"I have worked with many people over the years and it has always been enjoyable.

"I plan to stay here until they decide they have had enough of me."

David celebrated with colleagues and friends at a party at the Comrades Club earlier in the month.

Morrisons will host a party later in the year for all employees who mark milestone anniversaries with the company.
