THE taste of Morocco has come to Stroud with the opening of a new falafel shop.

Za’Za Maroc opened in London Road on the corner of John Street in December serving a range of Moroccan, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food.

Owners Zara Lawson and Tuija Halonen create authentic street food including falafels in pitta with salad, hummus and sauces, vegetable tagines, and a selection of mezzes such as halloumi cheese, tabbouleh and sun dried tomatoes.

They also offer seasonal salads and soups and sell a variety of deli products such as rose harissa, baba ganoush and olives.

Miss Halonen said: “Our philosophy is to source only the best ingredients and make all of our produce ourselves.

“We get our inspiration from authentic street food in the Middle East and the Mediterranean.

“Our food is perfect to take away for lunch or if you like you are welcome to eat in in our informal falafel bar.

“We can also prepare a dinner for you to take home after a long day at work.”

Za’Za Maroc is open from 11am to 4pm on Tuesdays to Fridays and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays.

An upstairs area with extra seating is due to be completed in January.
