A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Gloucester on Monday (January 13).

The 51-year-old Gloucester man was detained on suspicion of attempted murder yesterday and remains in police custody at this time while inquiries continue.

Officers were called to the incident at an address in Nettleton Road in Gloucester at around 8.55pm on Monday night and discovered two men, aged 30 and 47, who had suffered stab wounds. Both were taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital but the 30-year-old man was later transferred to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol where his condition was described as critical but stable.

The 47-year-old man was discharged from hospital and arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He has now been released without charge.

Police are still eager to hear from anyone who was in the area or at the scene at the time of the incident.
