STROUD District Council is hosting a series of drop-in events to help residents apply for jobs and get access to advice on benefits and social housing.

There will be free computer, internet and phone access to help people find work and submit job applications during the free drop-in sessions, which run throughout 2014.

Held at the The Arkell Community Centre in Nympsfield Road, Nailsworth, the drop-in days will take place on the last Wednesday of every month from 2.30-4pm.

The days, which will also provide people with information about welfare reform, are open to all local residents and council tenants will also have the opportunity to learn more about how to become involved in their neighbourhoods.

There will be free tea and cake during the first drop-in which takes place on Wednesday, January 29.

The dates for the other drop-in days are: February 26, March 26, April 30, May 28, June 25, July 30, August 27, September 24, October 29 and November 26.
