CHALFORD photographer Rebecca Northway has won an award for her photograph of a Haresfield Primary School pupil.
Rebecca, whose has a studio in London Road, Chalford, has been named the winner of the portrait category of the 2013 South West Awards for her photograph of Haresfield pupil Freya Ryland taken at Berkeley Castle.
“Winning the portrait category against such a competitive field was a real surprise,” said Rebecca.
“The winning image was from a series I took of Freya last year in the stunning Berkeley Castle and it is one of my favourite photos, so winning the award with it was the icing on the cake.”
Rebecca, who specialises in portraiture and weddings, is hosting a workshop for budding photographers who want to enhance their skills and learn the techniques and tricks used by professionals.
The first workshop takes place at Dark Lane Studio in London Road, Chalford between 10am and 5pm on Saturday, February 1.
Limited spaces are available. Anyone wishing to attend should call 01453 451875 or email rebecca@rebeccanorthway.com.
